Out of the Mouth of Babes

Our little Kenzie girl cracks us up all of the time with the funny things she says. How I love her and am thankful for her fun little spirit.

"My belly hurts... We better play with bubbles."

"My Jesus loves me to pee in the potty."

"We could make brownies? That would be good... wouldn't it, Mommy?"

"Arthur (my parents dog) is so handsome! Just like my daddy!"

My niece, Lily, was baptized in March and we went to Idaho to be there for the special day. When it was time for Lily to enter into the baptismal font, Makenzie and the other smaller children went up to the glass so they could get a closer look. After the prayer had been said and Lily came up from the water, Makenzie shouted in excitement "My turn!"

While we were in the car, Makenzie said "I'll trade you some pixie dust for a cracker." How could I resist such an offer?! I handed her a cracker, held out my hand and said "Can I have some pixie dust now?" She said
"Ya!" and reached under her bum in her car seat. She had her fingers pinched together when her hand submerged and she sprinkled some tiny crumbs into my hand. "There you go!"

Makenzie was "reading" a book aloud the other day and said "Behold the spirit God of Jesus Christ amen." It makes me pretty happy that she pretends to read scriptures... even if it doesn't make much sense yet :)

A couple of nights ago, Makenzie came into my room whining.
"What's wrong, Makenzie?" I asked. More whining. "Makenzie, why are you crying?"
"I'm sorry," she whimpered pathetically.
"Why are you sorry, Kenz? What's the matter? Did you pee in your bed?" Distressed, she replied
"I'm sorry, Mom. I don't know what I was thinking."
I thought her answer was so cute that I wasn't even irritated that I had to change a pee-pee soaked little girl and bed. I love that girl!

Our Little Family

Who needs a rain coat when you have trash bags?! I love that Shane rode to class like this shamelessly. I thought it was a brilliant idea :)

My little chocolate face girl

Love that boy! And I love that he crosses his ankles all of the time. So cute!

Shane and Mackenzie went on a daddy-daughter date to the movies and for ice cream. They saw "How to Train Your Dragon II" in the dollar theater. These two are best buds and it makes me so happy.

Animal Girl

Our little Kenzie girl LOVES her little animal friends and takes such good care of them, always. She tucks them in bed and puts them down for naps. She even makes sure the light is off and that no one goes into the room while they are sleeping because she doesn't want to wake them (apparently, her animals are very light sleepers). She takes at least two of them to bed with her every night, too. I just adore how loving she is to them. We find her animals swaddled up in comfy beds all the time. Here are some examples.

So this one doesn't look super endearing, but she was walking her puppy around on it's "leash" and then she tied him to the gate so he wouldn't run away. I guess I need to teach her to give her animals a little slack when she ties them to a fence :)

Halloween

Makenzie LOVES Minnie Mouse so, naturally, she was Minnie for Halloween and has been Minnie at least two time a week since. I love that she loves to dress up so much! A friend let us borrow her lion costume for Henry and (may I just say?) he was the cutest little lion I have ever seen in my life. Our apartment court had a little Halloween party and then we just went in a circle outside and trick-or-treated. It was quite ideal. AND it was WARM outside. We didn't even need sweaters!

I cant remember why Kenzie was crying now, but I just love the look on Willy's face! He is patting her back, trying to comfort her and just looks like he's perplexed about what to do for her. Welcome to the world of women, my little friend!

Willy, showing off his muscles.

July and August

Yes, I know I said I was going to catch up about 3 months ago and now, instead, I am just three more months behind. I have a goal to be all the way caught up to Christmas, however, by the new year. So get ready for lots of great posts!

Shane turned 28 this year! We celebrated by going on a date to the theater. We watched "The Edge of Tomorrow" and we both loved it!

Henry loves walking around with boots on his hands.

Popcorn is one of our favorite snacks.

These two were being so cute sharing these bubbles. Henry was actually doing a really good job of blowing them out.

Shane and I drove to California to go to his cousins wedding in August. We had a really nice time. Unfortunately, I didn't even take any pictures of the wedding... But I sure love this one of Shane and his mom.

This is Carole's sister, Diana.

And these are just cute pictures of my silly Henry boy. I just love him!

Bear Lake

Shane and I have some good friends who's parents own a cabin in Bear Lake. They invited us to go play up there with them in June and we had a blast.
It was very amusing to watch these boys play "Just Dance" on the Wii. The kids really enjoyed dancing with them, too :)

And, of course, we took a trip down to the beach.

This is my friend, Annie, and her son, Kaden.

I love sad baby photo's :)

Henry had such a blast playing in the water and sand.

This is our friend, Jordan.

Nate and Kaden.

Kenzie had so much fun and the water jet with her daddy.

Krystal and Taylor.

He played so hard that he fell asleep almost as soon as I put him in the car.
