Valentine's Day

So this is kind of late but... Happy Valentine's Day! I made fillet mignon for the first (and probably last) time. Our friend, Micheline, gave us some sirloin steaks that I was supposed to make for Shane's breakfasts... shhhhh! Don't tell her, ha ha! They turned out to be very tasty. Shane went to the store and bought some sparkling cider and came back with cider, candlesticks and matches. He thought it would be romantic to have a candlelight dinner but we didn't have any candlestick holders. My innovative side kicked in and I thought that foil might do the trick. Though not very attractive, these candlestick holders worked great! We finished the night with homemade ice cream as we watched BBC television. Gotta love those Brit's!

Our fancy dinner with our FANCY candles:) Katie made those pillows for us last year for Valentine's Day. Can anyone guess what movie that quote it from? - "I love you! - "I know" (answer is at bottom).

And here is my handsome husband. I love him so much and am so proud of him. In case you don't know yet, Shane just got extended his temporary supervising position to PERMANENT supervisor! He really has done so well in his job.  I am so grateful for all the hard work that he does.

Makenzie was just laying on her mat, trying to get that ring in her mouth without using her hands. She looked for funny.

I went to check on Makenzie and she was wide awake laying on here bobby like this. She didn't whine one bit. She was completely content looking at the pattern on the couch while being upside-down.

I know here eye's look slightly open but she is asleep. I love it when she grabs onto her blankets like this. She is just so sweet.

She was exhausted from playing with her toys :)

New Hair

I have been wanting to cut my hair for a long time but have been too scared to follow through. Well, it turns out that my friend, Heather, who just finished beauty school, needed a model for a test for her license. I finally swallowed my fear and happily volunteered. It is very different having short hair but I really do like it. And I love the way it feels too.

This is Heather's sister, Emma. She was so good with Makenzie.

Photo Challenge

My sister Katie invited me to do a photo challenge for the month of February with her. I am no where near as artistic as she but maybe this will help me get in touch with my creative side... hopefully I have one. I will be taking a photo every day of whatever the assignment is for that day.

 Here is day #1. It is of "my view" I took this quite literally and took a picture of the view I have from our window. This is my favorite tree from the empty field.
