Makenzie: pointing to a bottle of Tums, "What's that, Mommy?"
Me: "That is medicine for when your belly hurts."
Makenzie: "Oh... Mommy, my beddy hets (belly hurts). My beddy so so SO so het."
Makenzie was angry at me for taking Henry's binki away from her. I picked her up and sat her on my lap. I pressed my cheek to hers and she pushed my face away saying "get my dinner ready, mommy."
Every time I sweep the kitchen floor, Makenzie asks "Mommy, what are you doing?"
"I'm sweeping," I reply.
"You seeping, Mommy?"
"Yup!"
With a big grin on her face, "Nooooo, you not seeping! You AWAKE!"
I can't find it in me to explain to her that "sweeping" and "sleeping" are two different things because I love it so much when she says that!
Mackenzie and her cousin, Mallory really do love each other but sometimes (okay, most times) they don't act like it. A couple of weeks ago we were at her house and they were fighting over something when Mallory squealed "Go away, Kenzie! Go away!"
Makenzie shouted back, "No! I won't go away... Ever!"
A few days ago I scolded Makenzie for being naughty. She just looked at me with a sweet smile and said "Mommy is funny and cute." I have no idea where she learned that diversion tactic from, but I have to admit that it worked.
Just out of nowhere "You are the best mommy ever seen!"
Right after my shower
"I love your hair, mommy! It's so pretty and soaped (that's how she says soaked). I LOVE your walo ("water") hair!"
Oh how I love this girl!!!!
