Idaho!!!! Part 2

Being in Idaho was so much fun! We went to a book fair, walked to the library, ate at the Cocoa Bean (the best cupcake shop EVER), shopped and just enjoyed everyone's company. Katie taught me how to crochet while I was there too. I'm still working on the same washcloth that I started when I was there 3 weeks ago. I have undone and redone it about 10 rimes now. Mom and Emma surprised us all by coming on Sunday! It was so fun to have all of the kids together. The only think that could have made this trip better is if Dad and Shane had been able to come too. Then the WHOLE family would have been together. I love my family so much and am so grateful for the love and the friendships that bind our family together.

Riley was rocking out with the guitar. I wish I could remember some of the words she was singing:)

Kaylee took this beautiful picture of Katie and me.

"M" for Makenzie and Mallory

I love this picture so much. I love how Mallory looks like she is doing the "Step in Time" dace from Marry Poppins and Kenzie's face is pretty awesome too.

Rachel came to visit us while I was in Idaho. She made all the girls shirts/onsies with their first initials on them. When she finished passing all of them out she pulled out one more tiny little onsie that said "baby" on it and said "And THIS one is for ME!" Rachel is PREGNANT! I am so excited for her. I know that she is going to be the best mother ever.

This is my favorite Rachel smile. Isn't she just a glowing, gorgeous beauty?

Uncle Drew holding the cutest beanie babies!

They are already best friends. Just look at them holding hands.

Emma teaching the girls how to play cards.

Kenzie was sitting next to Zach on the couch for a long time before she so lovingly rested her head on Zach's lap.

Riley put together some of the coolest outfit's while I was visiting. This one was one of my favorites. She's wearing Mallory's overalls.

Idaho!!!! Part one

Kenzie and I went on a little trip to Idaho a couple weeks ago. We flew there on March 26, Andrew's Birthday. He is 20 years old now. Katie and I blew up Balloons and hung them form the ceiling but Andrew snuck in before we were finished. He was still very appreciative. Zach and a bunch of his and Andrew's friends joined us for the party of Papa Murphey's pizza and a YUMMY pineapple cake that Katie made.

Classic Andrew :)

Lily brought Andrew all of his presents. She's such a big helper.

These are good friends of Andrew and Zach.

And this is Zach's girlfriend. Her name is Rachel and she is a very good and sweet girl.

The girls loved helping Andrew open his presents.

We had a very fun night and Andrew got some very neat presents. I still can't believe my little brother is 20 years old!

6 Months

I can hardly believe that my tiny little baby is six months old. Then again, I can't believe she has only been in our lives for 6 months. It feels like we have always had this precious little girl. Makenzie Lee has been the most wonderful blessing that we have ever received. Never have we known such joy and happiness until Kenzie showed us the light. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for entrusting Shane and me with one of his most precious children. I thank him every day, multiple times a day, for sending us one of His very own angels. We love her more than words could ever express.

Here are some thing you might not know about Makenzie. Enjoy!

Kenzie has:
sometimes blondish, sometimes brownish, sometimes redish hair; two adorable bottom teeth; a cry that sounds like the shrieking eel's from "The Princess Bride;" the sweetest little pouty lip to make up for her cry; her daddy's cleft chin; her mommy's blue eyes

Kenzie likes: to roll and roll and roll; to play with cords (no matter how many toys are in front of her, she will roll right for the cords every time); funny faces; to be tossed in the air, to go shopping (she really does!); grocery lists (every time I shove my grocery list in between her leg and car seat she drops whatever toy she has and goes for the list instead. She loves that crinkly paper); when people laugh (she even smiles at laughs in her sleep); to talk (more like squeal), to touch faces

Kenzie doesn't like:
the sound of breaking glass (on TV or in real life); when her mommy leaves the room :):):) ; peas; blankets on her while she's sleeping; being tickled; when her mom talks while she is nursing

She looks a little funny in this picture but it is the only one of her sucking on her upper lip. She sucks on that top lip all the time and it is SO CUTE!

She rolls all over the place these days.
She loves to play with things that she really shouldn't play with... Don't worry, I took the pen away right after I took this picture :)

I love it when she passes objects from one hand to the other :)

Emma's play

Shane and I went to Independence last weekend to see Emma in her school play "The Little Mermaid." She played the part of a "Sea Scout." She sure was the cutest sea scout I've ever seen. Emma did a wonderful job and Shane and I were so happy to have an excuse to go visit my home-sweet-home.
This is how Emma posed for me when she saw me taking pictures. Silly girl!

Ronald Reagan Library

My Parents came down a couple weeks ago for President's Day weekend and we decided to celebrate by going to the library of one of the greatest presidents of all, Ronald Reagan. We had such a fun time learning about this great man.

"I know in my heart that man is good that what is right will always eventually triumph and there is purpous and worth to each and every life"

TEETH!!!!

When I felt a tiny tooth poking out of Makenzie's bottom gums two weeks ago, I started to cry... tears, runny nose, everything. I can't believe my tiny baby is growing up so fast! I am going to miss her cute little gummy smile but these little teeth are pretty adorable too. I love this baby more than words could ever say and I really do love every tiny stage she goes through.

The best way for me to get a picture of her teeth is when she is crying :(  Don't worry, I didn't let her cry for long. Can you see those tiny little white nubs?
